Simple sweet and sour pork chops recipe

The combination between two of the basic tastes – sweet and sour makes every meal an object of desire. Here is an easy recipe to prepare just by mixing products that can be assembled in minutes at home.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Marinating time: 1 to 8 hours
Baking time: 90 minutes

Serving: 3


6 boneless chops
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon honey ( you can substitute it with brown sugar)
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon dried or fresh rosemary (you can use oregano instead)

How to prepare
Prepare the marinade by mixing 1 tbsp. oil, honey, mustard, salt, vinegar, lemon juice and the herbs.

Brown the chops over a high heat for 2-3 minutes. Place the meat in a baking dish and pour the marinade. Keep in the fridge for 1-8 hours.

Preheat the oven. Cover the baking dish with a foil and bake at 350° F for 80-90 minutes.

Serve with fresh vegetables.

Cold Yoghurt & Cucumber Soup (Tarator)

This cold soup recipe is very popular in Balkan Peninsula, especially in Greece and Bulgaria. The Yogurt & Cucumber combination is a fresh choice in a sunny summer days. You can eat it instead of salad or as a main course. It is perfect for your diet thanks to its low-calorie content.


  • 1 cucumber, rinsed, peeled and grated
  • 2 cups of plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of walnut, grounded
  • 1tbsp. sea salt
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1tbsp. chopped fresh or dried dill
  • (Optional 1 clove of garlic)

How to prepare?
Rinse, peel and grate the cucumber. Place it in a large bowl and pour the yoghurt.

Mix well and slowly add the water. Then add the salt, olive oil and walnuts. Finally, sprinkle with dill.

Seafood soup


This recipe contains only 200-210 calories per serving. It is exotic, nutritious and healthy.

Preparation time – 15 minutes
Cooking time – 45-60 minutes


  • 1 cup shrimp
  • 1 cup crabmeat
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup of chopped carrot
  • 2 cups of chopped potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic or garlic pasta
  • 1 tablespoon of rosemary
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 3 cups of water

How to prepare?
Pour the water in a large saucepan and add the seafood. Boil for 15 minutes and add the onion, carrot, and potatoes. Continue cooking until desired tenderness. Add garlic, rosemary and salt.
Blend the 2 kinds of milk with the flour and pour the mixture over the boiled seafood and vegetables. Boil for another 5 minutes and serve.


Unshelled boiled eggs with Yoghurt


Cooking time – 7-10 minutes


  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of plain Yoghurt
  • Cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. ground red pepper
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar

Place a saucepan with cold water over a high heat. Wait until the water boils and add salt and vinegar. Pour the unshelled eggs in saucepan and boil for 2 minutes.

Cover the bottom of a deep plate with the yoghurt and then place the eggs using a slotted spoon.

In a small heatproof bowl melt the butter and add the pepper.

Then pour over the eggs and serve.

Tandoori Chicken Recipe

Preparation time – 10 minutes
Marinating time – 2-8 hours
Baking time – 45-60 minutes


  • 2,2lbs. or 1 kilogram boneless, skinless chicken
  • 1 teaspoon peeled and grated Ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons of Coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon of Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup of chopped Onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of Garam masala
  • 1 cup of plain Yoghurt
  • ¾ Red grounded Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Lemon

How to prepare?
Rinse and dry the chicken. Place it in a shallow bowl in a single layer.

In a pan, grill the Coriander seeds on a medium heat for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove these seeds, place the Cumin seeds and cook for 1-2 minutes.

In a kitchen processor combine the Yoghurt, Ginger, Pepper, Coriander, Cumin, Onion, Garlic the juice of 1 lemon, salt and Garam masala. Blend until smooth. Spread the marinade over the chicken and add Cloves.

Marinade for 1-8 hours. Then preheat the oven to 200C/375F.

Place the marinated chicken in a tray and bake for 45 – 60 minutes. Serve with fresh vegetables.


Sea bream in foil recipe



  • 2 cleaned sea breams or fish fillets
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • Mix of black, pink and white pepper
  • Sea Salt

How to prepare?

Preheat the oven to 200C/375F. Rinse the sea breams and place them in a roasting tray covered with a large piece of aluminum foil. Season with slices of half a lemon and add the olive oil, salt and pepper. Then fold the foil over the edges.

Place the tray in the preheated oven and roast for 40 minutes. Unfold the foil, open the top and cook for 15-20 minutes more until the fish gets a golden brown colour.


To serve, squeeze over fresh lemon juice.
